Any product
which is manufactured under the European Directive
and is marketed as such must bear the CE marking. This
is a legal requirement. By applying the CE mark the
manufacturer acknowledges that his product meets the European
Standards and EU Directives.
A CE
mark is not an approval but a self certification by the manufacturer.
In most
cases testing, system assessments and technical file assessments
will be mandatory. This varies from directive to directive
and sometimes
within directives.
Beware
!
If you claim your product complies with the standards and
directives and it does not, your product will be pulled of
the marked and you can be prosecuted.
With
the new ENEC Certification one can avoid much trouble.
Because you are automatically recognized at 18 member agencies
by submitting at only one agency of you choice.
