Any product which is manufactured under the European Directive and is marketed as such must bear the CE marking. This is a legal requirement. By applying the CE mark the manufacturer acknowledges that his product meets the European Standards and EU Directives.

A CE mark is not an approval but a self certification by the manufacturer.

In most cases testing, system assessments and technical file assessments will be mandatory. This varies from directive to directive and sometimes
within directives.

Beware ! If you claim your product complies with the standards and directives and it does not, your product will be pulled of the marked and you can be prosecuted.
